FAKT SHAMROCKPARK GmbH has major plans for the former RAG site in Herne: A completely new business and residential quarter is to be built of a plot measuring nearly 100,000 m².
There are plans for offices, a hotel, a boarding house, a business and conference centre with gastronomy and banqueting hall, family-friendly housing, kindergarten and retirement homes – in other words a usage mix that takes account of all ages as well as business and private requirements.
Surrounded by ample greenery, the SHAMROCKPARK will be rendered future oriented and energy efficient under the keyword “Digitalisation 2050”. FAKT AG, Eon Energy Solution and the Herner Stadtwerke utility company are jointly developing a concept for the supply of heat and electricity, as well as for mobility and broadband. For example, in a car-park with state-of-the-art charging facilities residents will be able to charge their electric vehicles in just 30 minutes with the aid of super chargers; the buildings will be equipped with glass fibre for a fast internet connection. There are also plans for a data centre as well as new broadband and mobility services, such as E-car sharing and the provision of E-scooters.
The SHAMROCKPARK is to retain its open character. With a few exceptions the existing buildings will remain and be augmented with new structures, such as the World Center. The buildings in good condition are currently being restored, converted and let. At the same time, the master plan is being honed. The transformation of the park is to be visible by the end of 2019.
