The Ruhr metropolis and Israel are deepening their relations
Begining of September, the BMR will be again in Tel Aviv for three days. This time, part of the company trip will be the Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Armin Laschet, and the Lord Mayor of Essen, Thomas Kufen. Aim of this trip is discovering innovations for new digital business models as well as introducing the BMR project Innovation Scouting to other potential partners.
And there is more to come in October – in the Ruhr metropolis. A representative of the Israeli start-up binah.ai will be visiting the region. During the last trip to Israel, this young company presented their platform which deals with data optimization during a pitch. Right after that pitch and during the network event in the evening, first contacts between the delegation and the start-up have been established.
During the Tel Aviv trip, the BMR has invited binah.ai to a return visit in to the Ruhr metropolis. From October 9th to 12th, Alon Shem-Tov, responsible for international sales with binah.ai, will be a guest of the region. He will get to know interesting companies but also experience the Ruhr metropolis as a dynamic and livable Region.
The strong connection which has been established between the BMR and Tel Aviv resulted from the close cooperation with CEO Grisha Alroi-Arloser and his team from the Israeli-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. About two years ago, a strong cooperation in the field of innovation scouting has begun. On behalf of companies from the Ruhr metropolis, like thyssenkrupp or Rhenus, fitting start-ups from the areas digitization, smart technologies or cyber security are being searched and matched in Tel Aviv.
During the delegation journey in June, representatives from Innogy, Remondis, thyssenkrupp and Vonovia could meet and get to know the start-ups on-site. We now highly anticipate the first visit of a Tel Aviv start-up. This will be used to intensify existing business relations and building new cooperations.
