A twin for office 51°7 – realisation of a second construction stage in Bochum-Laer
In Bochum, at the heart of the Ruhr region, lies the Mark 51°7 site, representing the most important urban development project of the coming years for the university city, tasked with successfully mastering the process of structural transition. The site will be home to a premium commercial technology and service location with university research facilities. The ZESS research centre of Ruhr University Bochum has also selected the future-capable location as the starting point for a new university campus, whilst further research institutes are currently finalising negotiations.
After the completion of a 1st stage of the office 51°7 project in December 2017, the flagship project on the Mark 51°7 site is set to receive a twin. The high demand for modern office space has prompted the development of a 2nd stage of construction.
Its location on the B226 trunk road and direct links to the A43 and A44 autobahns mean that office 51°7 has ideal individual transport connections. The Bochum tram network provides office 51°7 with the shortest distances to Bochum main railway station. In addition, the district of Bochum-Laer offers numerous options for shopping and provisions and is earmarked for further sustainable development.
The office 51°7 twin
The new building will house a rental space of around 3,000 m² in flexibly-divisible offices. Tenants will be able to benefit from modern spaces and technical infrastructure in order to realise flexible workplace concepts.
The new office 51°7 will be situated opposite the already completed building and offer the same quality and equipment standard. A part-load cooling system and floor heating are possible. The heating will take the form of a modern and efficient air-to-water heat pump. A fibre optic connection for rapid data links is also possible. The finishing of the spaces with equipment and floor plan is according to tenant requirements.
Construction work on the 2nd stage of the office 51°7 is to begin in early 2019, with the first rental spaces set to be provisionally completed by summer 2020.
