For the sixth time, the state's own economic development agency NRW.INVEST along with the Business Metropole Ruhr GmbH, the Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftsförderung Duisburg mbH (GFW Duisburg) and the German-Chinese Bureau of Economic Research (GCB) organized the Business and Investors Forum China (BIFC). To this year’s forum, about 600 manager and experts from China and Germany travelled to Duisburg in order to discuss the future issues of the digital industry. This forum is considered as an important network meeting which offers the chance to investors to initiate Chinese-German projects.
The Business and Investors Forum took place in Duisburg for the second time for a good reason: With more than five million inhabitants, the Ruhr metropolitan area is an important market and leading logistics hot spot for China. Especially the freight train connection between the inland harbor in Duisburg and China contributes to the increase of the trade relations.
Partner of the event was, among others, the Duisburger Hafen AG. An accompanying exhibition of all partners offered the opportunity to exchange news and to network. Furthermore, the guests had the chance to compete with table tennis pro Timo Boll as well as with representatives of the football club FC Schalke 04 in different digital sports actions.
